Decorative design for clothing and furnishings

Course Description: The Decorative Design for Apparel and Furnishings course ((DESI522), taught at the second Master's level in Fashion Design with 3 credit hours, covers the concept and types of design, factors influencing it, elements and principles of design, principles of organizing elements of a work of art, different methods for distributing decorative units in a design and its preparation stages, in addition to analyzing decorations from various sources, and preparing a set of decorative designs inspired by previously selected decorations suitable for apparel and furnishings.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to study types of design and influencing factors, identify design elements and principles, and the principles of organizing elements of a work of art. It also aims to train students on different methods for distributing decorative units in design, and to study the stages of preparing decorative design.
