Classic literature review

Course Description: This course aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge and understanding of classic scientific articles related to community oral health and preventive dentistry. The course consists of ongoing weekly seminars dedicated to classic scientific articles and discussion of research methodologies. The seminars will be held for pre-determined topics. Article reviews and textbook chapters will be selected for each topic. This will allow students to gain in-depth knowledge of the specific topics. In addition, modern and classic scientific articles will be critically analyzed to evaluate their value according to the concept of evidence-based dentistry.
Credit hours: 4
Objectives of the course :

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Develop critical reading skills related to social literature.
2. Include points to consider during the critical analysis of different types of studies.
3. Description of various techniques and materials in the field of general dental health.
4. Critical analysis and interpretation of all selected articles/book chapters.
5. Interpret relevant data using information technology and library resources to solve a clinical problem.
