Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Describe the steps of the planning cycle for a community oral health project.
Describe the importance of evidence-based dentistry in making clinical decisions in a community setting.
3. Develop understanding for planning and conducting a survey based on the World Health Organization methodology to assess the oral health needs of community groups.
4. Developing a valid and reliable questionnaire to assess oral health knowledge, attitudes, and practices.
5. Preparing and evaluating oral health education materials appropriate for the needs of the target audience.
6. Interpretation of results in the report after data coding, entry, and analysis.
7. Demonstrate the use of key strategies for preventing oral and general health problems for target community groups and discuss their implications.
