As part of strengthening scientific and research partnerships, Qassim University signed a memorandum of understanding with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) yesterday, Monday, at KAUST. The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Professor Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharikh, President of Qassim University, and Professor Edward Bern, President of KAUST.
This memorandum aims to develop the research environment, support innovation and entrepreneurship, exchange expertise between the two universities, develop joint academic programs, and leverage advanced research resources, in a way that contributes to strengthening the Kingdom's position as a global center of scientific and technological excellence.
The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Vice President of Qassim University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Waleed Al-Battah, Professor Omer Yaghi, KAUST Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Professor Arwa Al-Ahmadi, KAUST Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
The memorandum of understanding included several areas of cooperation, most notably: leveraging advanced research and informational resources, enhancing cooperation in scientific research, training and development, and scientific exchange for faculty members, which contributes to enriching research output and achieving effective integration between the two academic institutions.
A research training program agreement was also signed with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). The agreement was signed by Dr. Walid Al-Bathah on behalf of Qassim University and Professor Omar Knio on behalf of KAUST. This agreement aims to enable Qassim University students to participate in a recognized research training program within an advanced academic environment. This will enhance their scientific and cognitive development within their specializations by engaging in high-quality research projects under the supervision of distinguished researchers at KAUST.
