His Excellency the Minister of Education, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Universities Sports Federation, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, honored Qassim University on the occasion of its obtaining fourth place among more than 50 Saudi governmental and private universities and colleges, within the results of the performance indicator for the fifteenth Saudi Universities Sports Season.
This took place during the Federation's annual ceremony, held at the Ministry of Education headquarters in Riyadh, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharikh, and a number of university leaders, officials, and those interested in university sports affairs.
This achievement reflects the university’s continuous efforts in organizing and activating internal sports activities, and increasing student participation in various games, alongside community initiatives and activities for people with special needs. The university also distinguished itself with its external participation in union championships and its hosting of sports events. During the year 1446 AH, the university recorded over 2800 sports activities and approximately 15 external participations, achieving numerous medals and awards in individual and team competitions.
It is mentioned that the university has maintained its position among the top seven Saudi universities in performance indicator results over the past five seasons, which confirms its institutional approach to developing the university sports environment and encouraging students to participate in sports activities to enhance their skills and health, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in supporting university sports and developing the capabilities of youth.
