UQU launches "Innovation Incubator 5" to promote the transformation of ideas into sustainable economic value

Qassim University

Qassim University, represented by the Innovation and Intellectual Property Center, has launched the fifth edition of the “Ibtekar” incubator. Registration begins on February 25 and runs until March 31, 2026. This initiative is part of the university's efforts to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, in partnership with national entities and supporting private sector organizations. This contributes to achieving integration between academic knowledge and market needs.

The Innovation Incubator is one of the university's initiatives that aims to foster a spirit of competition and elevate the quality of ideas and projects. This is achieved by offering various programs, meetings, workshops, and mentoring sessions at different stages, contributing to the transformation of these projects into promising products with economic value. This supports the innovation and entrepreneurship index and contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

On his part, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Muhaimid, Director of the Center for Innovation and Intellectual Property, affirmed that the launch of the fifth version of the incubator reflects the university's commitment to its developmental and economic role. He pointed out that the incubator represents a practical platform for transforming ideas into promising applications and products with value. He further stated that the university, through the incubator, works to empower and promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, and to provide a supportive environment that contributes to establishing competitive startups, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in building a knowledge-based economy founded on innovation and technology.

He added that strategic partnerships with national entities and the private sector are a fundamental pillar in the incubator's success, by providing expertise, empowerment, and linking to investment opportunities, emphasizing that the university is working to develop an integrated system that supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer.
