The university has achieved new progress in the THE Subject Rankings 2026 by Times Higher Education, after the number of ranked disciplines increased to 9 out of the 11 disciplines on which the ranking is based. This reflects the breadth of the university's academic coverage and its growing presence in various specializations.
Dr. Majed bin Fadhi Al-Enezi, the Vice President for Business Development and Community Partnership, affirmed that this expansion is an extension of the university's vision to enhance the quality of education and raise the efficiency of academic outcomes. He explained that the university is proceeding according to a clear strategy to improve institutional and academic performance, and to expand the scope of excellence in teaching, scientific research, and community service.
Al-Anzi stated that this progress embodies a direct result of continuous institutional work based on quality education practices, and emphasizes the breadth of specializations at the university and its ability to compete according to global measurement indicators. He clarified that the field of humanities entered the classification for the first time among the classified fields in the Times ranking, in addition to the already classified fields, bringing the total number of classified fields to 9 out of the 11 fields adopted by the ranking.
The THE Subject Rankings are among the most prominent global rankings that measure university performance by subject across indicators including teaching, research, citations, and international outlook, allowing for a more precise assessment of universities' progress in each field individually.
