The President of Qassim University honors the winners of the first phase of the Innovation 5 Incubator.

His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharaikh, sponsored today, Saturday, May 16, 2026, the closing ceremony of the fifth edition of the Innovation Incubator and the honoring of the winners of the first phase of the incubator. The event was organized by the university, represented by the Innovation and Intellectual Property Center, in the presence of the university vice presidents, at the main foyer in the university city.

The first phase of the incubator saw approximately 140 innovative projects qualify for the second phase, the “training camp,” with a track aimed at elevating ideas and projects and transforming them into promising products with economic value.

His Excellency the President of Qassim University affirmed that the university continues its commitment to supporting the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, and empowering young national talents to transform their ideas into qualitative projects that contribute to economic development. He pointed out that “Innovate 5 Incubator” represents a national platform that reflects the scale of the innovative movement witnessed in the Kingdom, and provides a stimulating environment that combines academic knowledge with market needs, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Speaking on his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Muhaymid, Director of the Innovation and Intellectual Property Center at Qassim University, said: “Today, we are proud to celebrate the qualitative achievements realized at this stage, which was not merely an innovation incubator, but a national platform for idea generation, empowering talents, and transforming aspirations into promising projects with a sustainable economic and developmental impact. This edition reflected the growing momentum in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom and showcased the nation's abundance of young minds capable of shaping the future.”.

The innovation incubator comes as part of the university's efforts to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, in partnership with national entities and the private sector, contributing to the integration between academic knowledge and market needs. The current edition saw more than 1200 applicants, the formation of more than 500 teams, with the participation of 27 universities, and the participation extended to 19 cities across the Kingdom.

The participation areas included four main tracks: Human Health, Energy and Industry Leadership, Environmental Sustainability and Basic Needs, and Future Economies, reflecting the diversity of ideas presented and the broad national interest in innovation and entrepreneurship.
