The university president sponsors the research forum of the College of Agriculture and Food

His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohamed bin Fahad Al-Sharikh, patronized today, Sunday, May 17, 2026, the research forum of the College of Agriculture and Food, titled: «Promising Researchers... For a Sustainable Future,» in the presence of the university's vice presidents, at the King Abdulaziz Center for Conferences in the university city.

The university president reviewed the accompanying exhibition, which featured 38 research posters presented by male and female college students, as well as a number of participating booths. This exhibition served as a scientific platform that brought together research ideas and academic aspirations to present solutions that contribute to supporting sustainability and developing the fields of agriculture and food.

His Excellency the President of the University affirmed that scientific research is a fundamental pillar in building a sustainable future and enhancing the nation's competitiveness in vital fields. He pointed out that the university is committed to supporting the research environment and empowering researchers and students to develop innovative scientific solutions that contribute to addressing development challenges, especially in the sectors of agriculture, food, and environmental sustainability. The Qassim region is rich in exceptional economic and agricultural elements, making it a vital cornerstone in the national food security map.

For his part, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences, Dr. Hani Al-Faheed, affirmed: "Food security is no longer purely an agricultural matter, but has become an essential part of the comprehensive national security system, in light of accelerating global challenges, including water scarcity, climate change, and increasing pressures on global food supply chains.".

He pointed out that these challenges require an active research presence and the provision of scientific solutions that keep pace with the nation's aspirations and the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. He emphasized that Qassim University has strengthened its presence in a number of advanced international rankings in the fields of agricultural sciences, food security, and environmental sciences, reflecting the quality of its research outcomes and the excellence of its academic community.

The forum aims to develop leadership, communication, and creative skills among male and female students, empower them to enhance their academic skills, and promote values of cooperation, competition, scientific integrity, and teamwork. Additionally, it seeks to build bridges for scientific communication, increase research activity and knowledge exchange among students, researchers, and faculty members, and open horizons for collaboration between applied research at the college and relevant institutions in the agricultural and food fields.

The forum included several themes: modern horizons in improving animal and poultry productivity, applications for enhancing health and quality of life, new horizons in food science and technology, innovative solutions for enhancing productivity in agriculture, and environmental and economic sustainability strategies.

At the conclusion of the forum, His Excellency the President of the University honored the sponsors for their support in holding this event. They were the Diamond Sponsor Naffa', Ittad Company, the Gold Sponsor Arasco, and the Silver Sponsor Al-Bahath for Medical and Scientific Equipment.
